Level 1

Funded core service as part of the local offer. Also available at a charge.

Details of Package

  • Assessment and consultation with Outreach Advisory Teacher, written report and recommendations for provision.
  • Up to 6 weekly visits where appropriate, including:
    • direct work with pupil
    • consultation with staff
    • visit records
    • review meeting with further recommendations
    • written exit report.

* Please note that SAOS will respond to referrals as appropriate, according to need. This may not lead to a full intervention package and may be limited to a consultation visit.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Up to 2 referrals per year for primary schools, according to service capacity. Priority will be given to pupils in Year R with an EHC Plan or undergoing EHC assessment.
  • Additional referrals will be considered as follows:
    • Schools in Category D (as defined by the Schools’ Monitoring Group), according to service capacity. (These referrals are confidential and should be sent via Anycomms directly to SAOS).
    • Pupils moving into Southampton from outside the city, according to service capacity.
    • Pupils on a ‘managed move’, or supported through 'In year Fair Access' according to service capacity.

Level 2

Charged enhanced service.

Details of Package

Following receipt of Level 1, three half termly visits with review and written report.

Secondary Support

Details of Package

  • One pupil referral.
  • One Secondary Surgery
  • Yr 6-7 Transition support for 2 pupils

Available to all Secondary schools.

Consultancy

Consultancy Service.

½ day or full day consultancy support.

  • Whole School SEND Review
  • Whole school strategic advice and training.
  • Whole School Systems and Interventions Check for SEND.
  • Consultation visit with written report.
  • Visitor mornings.
  • Twilight/Half day and Full day training or consultancy support.
